By train from Copenhagen to Hamburg to Berlin, with a ferry ride tossed in for fun.

Train from Copenhagen station south across Denmark. Train parked on a boat, which then sailed across the sea to Germany. Changed trains in Hamburg, where I had only 30 minutes. Arrived Berlin around 7pm, walked along the Spree by the new Berlin Wall memorial walk, saw the Bundestag and Brandenberg Gate. Bought a 7 day train pass and headed towards Johannes apartment. After getting off the train an starting to look for his place, I got caught in a serious rain and hail storm that lasted about 15 minutes. This was a repeat of the last time I got off a train in Berlin and went looking for my place, though this time at least I had reasonable little luggage. Found Johannes eventually, went inside, dried off with tea and French wine, a light meal, and slept on his fold out chair.
